I just subscribed a couple of weeks ago so I haven't had enough time to comment on their stock picks.
I am disappointed that my yearly membership fee only covers a small portion of their stock recommendations. To gain access to "everything" members need to pay large fees in addition to the yearly subscription. I receive up-selling emails daily from Motley Fool that contain headlines that seem beneath the professional standard I expected. "Did you see our last email?" "I hope you read this before the market opens tomorrow!" "In case you missed it." "Don't miss out". Again, daily up-selling emails and very little in the way of actual stock analysis. Finally, I'm getting tired of reading, almost daily, about how they picked Amazon and Netflix when their stock prices were lower... Ancient history. I hope they come up with new content and add more stock recommendations for their "basic" members.
I found the sheer amount of hype and daily load of emails overwhelming and hard to understand. The headline might say, "Four Stocks To Buy Today." But you'd have to click here and open and sign up for another thing... I felt like they were always trying to sell me on how great they were and to buy up the next level of information. Perhaps for the big investor, this information is good. For someone looking for invest a smaller amount - too confusing. Honestly, I could never find the section that laid out in a clear format about what to buy and why.

Advice was dubious at best for the stockadvisor plan. Example buy lukincoffee and then lukincoffee hits the fan last year. Don't bother, these are stock picks that anyone can make with a little reading.
For me my subscriptions to stock advisor & Rule breakers has been great. While I am not always able to invest in the new recommendations when they are recommended, I am always able to identify those recommendations I believe in at a price that matches my targets. This has taken my financial future to a stable footing.
I was having some questions on how to do something on their site. It only took one email, and they had everything cleared up for me that morning.
So found out why this company is so negative about some stocks and positive about others. They own MFAM (Motley Fool Asset Management) they use the articles to bash the stocks they have puts on and pump the one with calls on. As you can see it’s a total scam and hopefully the Right people see this and they get investigated
I am a subscriber - and am appalled at the torrent of negative reviews. I subscribe to share advisor. I have only been a subscriber for a few months. And what I have seen is normal of any stocks, some go up and some go down. But I checked a few of their past recommendations and they do beat the S&P on returns over a few years period.
Now if you are looking for a quick buck, or looking at your portfolio value every few minutes to watch it go up, I am pretty sure you will be disappointed.
One thing I would want to see better improved is customer service response time. Other than that, so far I am a happy customer.
Absolutely untrustful and a scam.
SEVERAL attempts to contact their "customer service" .... nothing.
Don't fall for fake reviews
They simply do not report the facts. I've even seen a hit piece and a praise piece for the same company come out within 30 minutes of each other.
If I could rate 0 stars I would, really bad serviette I wouldn’t recommend anyone to waste their time listening to these fools.
What a waste of resources
Stories are written without end users best interest. Paid for by hedge funds in order to try and trick retail investors.
More like “The Onion” vs real reporting.
I have paid and subscribed to 4 different Motley fool services so far. I am utterly disappointed by their disingenuous and dishonest business practices. Beware when you fall into the trap of a 30-day money-back guarantee. It really is not what it says. In the 20 or 30 pages sign-up document that they send you, there will be a small print hidden somewhere to prevent you from switching.
Motley Fool seems to only respond to the comments that talk about their garbage membership, which costs more than like $5,000 in a year. They don't want to take credit for trying to make people panic sell. Why don't one of you "fools" answer us? If you don't like gamestop or amc, then why all the negative news????I can tell you why, because your hedge fund superiors pay you guys in millions of dollars, to "short and distort" in which motley fools, you know is illegal?

They cater to different requirements. The motley Fool One combines them all but I am not sure is open to new members. I just renewed my three year membership that has yielded many times over its cost.

I do not have any experience with investing however, I want to learn. At this time I can't invest more than $100. Any recommendations?

The Motley Fool is a legit company created to help individual investors understand investing basics and provide them with investing ideas. They encourage investors who are willing to spend the time researching companies to be long term holders of a diverse portfolio. They very clearly identify that most of an investor's gains will be driven by a small number of the stocks in their portfolio and that a large number of your picks may lose to the market (some might be outright losers). The Fool teaches the process for identifying the publicly traded companies that might have a higher probability of beating the market over 3 to 5 years or more.
